An incredible aquatic journey
Coex Aquarium opened its doors in 2000 as a home to 40,000 marine creatures and 650 different species. As the largest marine theme park in Korea, Coex Aquarium showcases aquatic life from around the globe. In addition to its diverse species, the aquarium is divided into 14 themed discovery zones. Each zone features species from the heights of the Andean mountains to the depths of the Amazonian rain forest.
Fun for the whole family
Whether you are marveling at the manatees or taking in the incredible diving show, every exhibit at the Coex Aquarium has something to amaze children and adults alike. Probably the most famous exhibit is the Undersea Tunnel. Surrounded by sharks and giant rays, guests follow along a moving walkway through the heart of an enormous aquarium. Another popular exhibit is the Deep Blue Sea zone, featuring displays the strange world of giant crabs and beautiful jellyfish from the ocean’s depths. Also popular with kids is the ‘hands-on’ exhibit where vistors can touch a variety of interesting sea creatures. Finally, at the end of the tour, guests will find the Penguin Playground, a favorite with children and the only one of its kind in Korea.
